Lactoferrine-NFQ® et APO Lactoferrine-NFQ®

Derived from milk, where its chemical structure resembles the human form, Lactoferrin-NFQ® and APO Lactoferrin-NFQ®, used in the AnOxident formulations, are highly active forms of this health-promoting molecule.

Lactoferrin is a protein which occurs naturally in all human secretion liquids, amongst those, breast milk, saliva and tears. Lactoferrin is also found in numerous sites throughout the body where it plays an important role in the primary defence system. In the mouth Lactoferrin is one of the most important antimicrobial agents where it promotes the growth of healthy flora by inhibiting the activity of unwanted bacteria, helping to prevent infection.  Lactoferrin is antibacterial, antiviral and antiparasitic and also plays a key role in preventing the formation of free radicals and in controlling the inflammatory processes.

Cucumis Melo

Cucumis Melo is a highly effective, plant-derived source of Superoxide Dismutase (SOD).  In studies Cucumis Melo has been shown to be an effective anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant due to its SOD activity.

SOD is an important antioxidant defence mechanism in nearly all living cells exposed to oxygen. It is a reaction which occurs naturally in the body, including the oral cavity, as a defence against free radical damage.

Milk Protein Extract (MPE™)

MPE™ is a complex of proteins which, due to the DUOX system, has been shown to have a regulatory effect on your mouth’s pH by forming a barrier to excess salivary glucose.

The DUOX system acts as a barrier to neutralise the hydrogen peroxide caused by excess salivary glucose.  If left uncontrolled, hydrogen peroxide will cause a damaging, acidic oral environment which favours the accumulation of unwanted bacteria.


Xylitol is a « tooth-friendly », nonfermentable sugar alcohol.

Xylitol occurs naturally in fruit and vegetables, and in the human body.

Xylitol has been clinically proven to be a valuable adjunct in preventive dentistry. When incorporation into oral hygiene formulations its action is to regulate oral microflora by inhibiting the growth of the most harmful bacteria allowing the less harmful bacteria to dominate. These less harmful bacteria produce less acid and are less adhesive, therefore helping prevent caries.
